FAQ
The year ranges are only provided as a guide, we always recommend checking the FCC ID on your original fob and comparing it to the ones we have listed.
You can find the FCC ID on the back of your original fob. If you don't have an original fob, please contact your local dealer and provide them with your VIN. They will provide you with the OEM part number and we will be able to provide you the correct key fob based on that part number.
• OUC60270 or OUC60221 = 2007.5-2014 Version(s)
If you have RPO code AU0, AP8, or AP3 in your glove box then you are equipped for keyless entry. Simply purchase new fobs and follow the programming procedure.
Please watch our installation videos which are shown under the installation tab above.
2007-2010 fobs can be programmed by the user in under 3 minutes without an additional programmer.
2011-2014 trucks must be programmed using a programmer. Boost Auto Parts offers a programmer with the kit allowing the key fob to be programmed in under 3 minutes. The key fob can also be taken to the dealer to be programmed if you did not opt for our programmer.
Up to four (4) fobs can be programmed at once.
Yes, you can mix and match any combination of fobs you wish - up to a total of four fobs.
If you have the RPO code AP3 in your glove box then your truck is compatible with remote start. Simply purchase the remote start key fobs and program them.
If your truck does not have the AP3 RPO code, the remote start feature will not function.
Remote start is only offered on 2007+ vehicles.
Keyless entry would refer to the ability to enter the vehicle without the need of turning the physical key onto the vehicle’s door lock. Keyless entry allows users to enter the vehicle with the use of a key fob.
Vehicles that are equipped with this feature will be compatible to program our key fobs.
The RPO code is printed on the sticker in the passenger glove box. It is the left sticker in the glove box.
Our fobs generally don't work with aftermarket remote start systems.
The only exception to this, is some systems utilize a triple click of the OEM fob to remote start the vehicle. If you have a system that you use the OEM fob to trigger the remote start (like the one previously mentioned), our fob will also work but you must purchase the one without remote start (you will just triple click the same button sequence as OEM).
The fobs come with a battery pre-installed.
If you find yourself needing to replace the battery at a later point in time, reach out to our support team for guidance on how to replace it.
Check out the video on the installation page!
GM took away the ability for vehicle owners to program fobs themselves beginning in model year 2011. Typically these vehicles require a trip to the dealership ($100+) to program the fobs using a special tool.
The Boost Auto OBD programming tool plugs directly into your vehicle's diagnostic port and places the vehicle into programming mode so you can program fobs yourself in under 3 minutes.
The OBD programming tool can be used as many times as you would like on your vehicle, however, it will only work on one unique VIN so it cannot be used on multiple vehicles.

Easy to program and much better then the original key fob
Exactly as described, works very well. Only thing I don’t like is that the remote start doesn’t work for my vehicle, which I’m sure is due to my aftermarket alarm which is no problem honestly
Solid Product
Works as described, solid build and quality so far. Managed to drop it onto rocks within the first week, leaving a blemish, no fault of the FOB, but did not crack or break and is holding up well.
Boost auto never fails with their products 3 one works flawlessly
