This document will be covering the installation of Spot Light In Drive Mirror Mod on 2019+ OEM or aftermarket Chevy and GMC tow mirrors. This procedure applies to OEM mirrors and aftermarket mirrors. This kit works on the small mirrors as well as the towing mirrors.

How to Install Spot Light In Drive Mirror Mod on 2019+ Chevy/GMC Mirrors
Silverado or Sierra 2019+ GM Trucks

Introduction:

The instructions below will be covering the installation of Spot Light In Drive Mirror Mod on 2019+ OEM Chevy and GMC small mirrors or tow mirrors. This procedure applies to OEM small and tow mirrors only. This harness will allow the spot lights to be manually commanded on in any gear by pressing and holding the spot light button (including reverse, neutral, and drive). The factory control will still operate as designed while in park. This kit works on the small mirrors as well as the towing mirrors.

Full Installation Tutorial:

Your truck must be equipped with spot lights for this mod to work. For exact fitment, visit our product page.

Step 1:

Locate the body control module. The module is located in the drivers side foot well, to the left of the brake pedal. Locate the Blue body control module connector. Locate the Gray body control module connector. Press the tab on the top and pull down to release both connector.

Step 2:

On the Blue connector, you will be tapping to the wires in pin 1 and pin 19.

Pin 1 is located in the upper left hand corner with the connector tab facing up.

Pin 19 is located 2 rows up from the bottom and is 3 pins over from the right with the connector tab facing up.

Step 3:

Place the wire in pin 1 into the jaws of the t-tap. Our wire is Red with a White stripe, but your wire color may differ. Place the wire in pin 19 into the jaws of the t-tap. Be sure to use pin location as primary reference as wire colors may vary.

Step 4:

On the Gray connector, you will be tapping to the wires in pin 5 and pin 17.

Pin 5 is located 2 rows down from the top and 2 over from the left with the connector tab facing up.

Pin 17 is located 2 rows up from the bottom on the left side with the connector tab facing up.

Step 5:

Place the wire in pin 5 into the jaws of the t-tap. Our wire is Blue, but your wire color may differ. Place the wire in pin 17 into the jaws of the t-tap. Our wire is Blue, but your wire color may differ. Be sure to use pin location as primary reference as wire colors may vary.

Step 6:

Insert the quick disconnect on the Red wire of the Boost Auto Parts module into the t-tap on pin 1 of the Blue connector. Insert the quick disconnect on the Black wire of the Boost Auto Parts module into the t-tap on pin 19 of the Blue connector.

Make sure the metal portion of the disconnect is inserted all the way inside the opening of the t-tap to ensure a solid connection.

Step 7:

Insert the quick disconnect on one of the White wires of the Boost Auto Parts module into the t-tap on pin 5 of the Gray connector. Insert the quick disconnect on the remaining White wire of the Boost Auto Parts module into the t-tap on pin 17 of the Gray connector.

Make sure the metal portion of the disconnect is inserted all the way inside the opening of the t-tap to ensure a solid connection.

Step 8:

The images shown represent how the module is orientated between the two connectors when fully installed.

Step 9:

Plug the Gray connector and the Blue connector back into the body control module.

Step 10:

Tuck the module behind the kick panel. You may use the provided zip ties to secure the module behind the kick panel.

Operation:

To activate the spot lights in drive, you must press and hold the spotlight button.

When the button is not being pressed, the spot lights will turn off.

Your Installation is now complete!
